Consumer christianity

In my pursuit of Jesus, I think it is essential for me to be sure that I'm not just consuming everything but also living a life of service to Jesus. I believe the church today is filled with more consumer Christians than Contributing Christians. If we are only consumers and never actually do anything to help, we become complacent with what we have.

The danger of complacency is that we waste our gifts. We squander what our Master has entrusted to us. Complacency will hinder your potential. It will get you to quit when you should press in!

In my opinion, the worst part about being a consumer Christian is we become complacent in our pursuit of God. If we feel we are satisfied, we won't press in for more. God is so deep and vast that we can always learn more about Him! But a complacent, consuming Christian will never experience that!

We are not called to be consumer Christians but Contributing. If we want to avoid this complacent mindset, then we must serve in His Kingdom. We should desire to be partakers in the spreading of the gospel, not just TAKERS.

We must stop living with the "what can I get" mentality and start living with the "what can I GIVE" mentality. Let's not become consumer Christians; let's contribute.
