The benefits of prayer

Our prayer life should be an investment. We may not see its benefits right away, but many benefits come when we choose to invest in our prayer life. It's like planting a seed! You do not see the growth right when you plant it, but you will reap the benefits of its seed over time. You reap what you sow. Spiritual seeds are not easy to grow, it takes sacrifice, but the rewards are eternal. Seeds of the flesh are east to plat, but they produce a harvest of death and regret.

We must plant our own seeds. We cannot rely on just the prayers from others; we must develop a personal prayer life.

I believe many benefits come with prayer. But I only want to cover a few of them.

Our prayer life provides us with courage and strength. We receive the courage to say "no" to the world. To live out our convictions without fear of the opinions of others. It gives us the strength to overcome sin and temptation. Strength to live counter-culture.

Prayer gives us compassion and power. A life of prayer leads us to the heart of God. When we understand His heart, we begin to have compassion for His people. Prayer also gives us the POWER to help. When we are filled with the Holy Spirit, we walk in His power.

And lastly, prayer gives us identity and confidence. As we draw closer to the Lord, we begin to discover who we are in Christ. When we discover who we are in Christ, we walk in confidence to walk out our God given destiny.

Invest in your prayer life, and you will see the benefits.
