Lazy christians
Would you consider yourself a spectator in the Kingdom of God or a participator? One of the most frustrating things to see is when people sit on the bench when they should be in the game. When people sit and waste away in their complacency instead of answering the call with passion and urgency.
The problem with sitting back in complacency is what we end up doing is wasting away the giftings that God has given us. A complacent Christian will never fulfill their full potential in the Kingdom of God. A complacent Christian will stop too soon, will give up right before the breakthrough, and will stop pressing in just before the miracle takes place in their life.
I do think that most of the time, we sit in complacency due to our insecurities. We never press into more because we feel as if we are underqualified to either receive more from God or to do more FOR God. An insecure Christian will sit on their gifts and watch the potential waste away. Insecure Christians will become complacent as they excuse themselves due to their inefficiency.
Another reason we can be complacent is just plain laziness. Lazy Christians waste their gifts simply because using them would take work. Lazy Chstiristina will attend church but never serve. They will have a ton of critiques but will never want to be a part of the solutions. The lazy Christians can be lazy because they see no reason for a sense of urgency. They put the work of the Kingdom on the backs of all of their spiritual brothers and sisters. Can God receive Glory in laziness?
And lastly, I believe we struggle with complacency because we struggle with doubt. Why would I take steps of faith unless I truly believed that God would move? Why would I sacrifice my whole unless I was absolutely convinced that Jesus indeed has called me?
Complacent Christians will make no impact on the world. Do you want to be complacent?
