our freedom for others
I am grateful for all that the Lord has done in my life. I am fully satisfied in Him. I have everything I need and more because I have HIM! I think about where I used to be, what kind of person I was, and the bondage I lived in until I met Jesus.
When I met Jesus, He completely restored my life. I was no longer bound! I was free! I was now walking a new life, something I had never experienced before. It was a beautiful new life in Christ. But the thing about freedom, if we are not careful, we can become too comfortable in it.
You see, our freedom, although a beautiful thing, is not meant for us to sit in the comfort of it. You are commissioned to live out your freedom in such a way that it advances God's kingdom.
If we are honest, most of us will receive restoration from the Lord and begin to live in the comfort of it instead of embracing the challenges of helping others receive this same restoration.
Our freedom in Christ is not for selfish gain or indulgence. We are saved with a purpose! And many times, living out that purpose is living outside of our comfort. If we want to make a real difference, we must be willing to leave our "comfort zone" and embrace the challenge.
Don't get so comfortable that you miss the people you can win to the Lord. Don't get so focused on yourself that you neglect the people around you that need the freedom you have already received.
Our freedom is not for ourselves; it is for others. That many would experience a new life in Christ.
