Releasing old mindsets

We are just a bit over a week into the year 2021. I'm sure a lot of us had significant plans to start the year. We had resolutions and goals. I am sure we all not only wanted to get things done, but we want to grow in the Lord. Usually, at the beginning of each year, we plan and think about ways to improve our walks with the Lord.

We plan, we strategize, but we can't ever seem to make the proper changes. So what is the one thing we can do to accomplish something significant this year? If we want to have a successful year, we must change our mindsets. Most of us are living with a carnal mind, and we don't realize it. The bible tells us that we must have a renewed mind, and with that renewed mind, we will live in and accomplish the will of God.

So how can we identify ungodly mindsets? Well, we have to realize the kind of thoughts we have. I believe two ungodly influences can dictate the type of mindset we have.

1. A mindset influenced by Satan.

2. A mindset influenced by the flesh.

I want to point out how a mindset influenced by Satan thinks. Many different thoughts come from this, but here are just a few. A mindset influenced by Satan will belittle God's authority, question our identity in Christ, and condemn us of the sin that has already been forgiven.

Then you have the carnal mindset. The Carnal mindset will think "I" know better. Meaning, we will believe our plans are better and smarter than the Lords. A carnal mindset will do everything to glorify self. And it will excuse a sinful lifestyle.

If we want to accomplish anything worthwhile in 2021, we must surrender these old mindsets.

We surrender them by submitting to the authority of Christ. By allowing Him to change the way we think. If we want to live to please Him, we must live with His mindsets.

Don't let another year go by where you don't fully walk in the will of God.
